Start-Up Junkies – Green Doesn’t Just Mean Money on New Show

mojo.jpgIt is perhaps a sign of the times that a TV show getting some press in entrepreneurial circles , features in its first episode, a green entrepreneur. “Start-up Junkies” shown on MOJO HD TV, a much talked about subsidiary of iN DEMAND Networks, is part of the network’s, MOJO Money Night. Targeting that 25-35 male audience beloved by high end goods manufacturers, MOJO is gambling on recent buyers of HD sets (often that same demographic) to tune in on Thursday nights to catch money makers in action. If you don’t have an HD set, you can watch the show online, here.

Ron Wiener, CEO of EarthClass mail which I wrote about here is the green entrepreneur featured. And while some may, and one commenter did, say that this company is greenwashing its business, many will see this as a step forward for green entrepreneurs.

Is Earth Class mail exploiting the opportunity it offers to improve recycling of junk mail and other mail related paper waste? The service, one that has as its key advantage the opportunity to access your snail mail from anywhere, also does, and the company promotes this, include a recycling service.

From the name of their company to the copy on their website, they pitch environmental responsibility as an integral part of their business plan.

Award-winning online Post Office Box and Mail Forwarding service is secure, affordable, and good for the environment.

And that is in itself a good thing. When companies large and small incorporate eco awareness in their business plans and networks (albeit a small one in this case) see a green business as one that can capture viewers, then we can conclude awareness of our environment is rapidly becoming mainstream.

And that is all for the better. Every small step taken leads to yet another geared toward saving our planet for the next generation.
