Ecopreneurs Drive Green Movement – Discovery Channel Shows How
It’s not that unusual for entrepreneurs to incite change. One might say it’s expected. Highlighting the drive toward green is Discovery Channels new Planet Green. The all green network features a variety of shows, but it’s interesting to note how many of them feature ecopreneurs.
This month marks the debut of Planet Green, Discovery’s new all-green network, which is rolling out the green carpet for heavy Hollywood hitters like Leonardo DiCaprio, Adrian Grenier and Tommy Lee. But the real stars of Planet Green are the entrepreneurs featured in many of its programs and whose creativity and energy are a big part of the green movement’s success.
The new mass awareness of global warning and its potential impact, is bringing would be entrepreneurs out of the wood work with lots of innovative new ideas. Discovery Channel hopes to highlight some of their efforts.
“The green movement is a relatively new movement, and it really does require a lot of innovation,” says Eileen O’Neill, president and general manager of Planet Green. “Entrepreneurs are often at the forefront of innovation, so for us, it’s an exciting opportunity to be a megaphone for a lot of the entrepreneurs.”

I have several “Environmental problem” solutions/ ideas that I could really use your help in finding the right contacts to “explore the possibilities”. One idea involves 100% POLLUTION FREE, RECYCLABLE ELECTRICITY! Construction and maintenance should be the only cost…This idea includes items that have been time proven to do what they were meant to do. However, they haven’t been put together the way I have in mind. Idea #2: The media has reported that 25% of the electrical power used in America, is used to heat water. This idea should drasticly reduce that percentage. I have other ideas, including two, that should help with the forest fires that seem to plague the western states and Florida.
