		<description>[...] Here is another set of advice for going green at work, and encouraging your employees to do join in the effort. I link to this post for two reasons, because the article has some good tips, and because it is also a nice blog, with lots of good information, and after you are done reading mine, you should head on over to it, it&#8217;s called the Ecopreneurist. <description>Thanks for the really great tips on how to improve your company&#039;s environmental footprint. I agree that getting employees to buy-in to green programs and intiatives is key any successful implementation.

&quot;There are many other ways in which businesses can help employees take more ownership of minimizing waste and reducing energy consumption&quot;

I especially liked idea #5. By sharing the utility information with employees, manager and owners can help them realize that the bottom line can effect the future of the company, and hence their employment.

Allowing the employees to be part of the planning process of any green initiatives, creates ownership and makes them feel positive about the role they are playing within the business.

A recent example of employees not taking ownership of corporate green policy is at Washington State Ferry Corporation. An investigation by a mainstream news team exposed employees throwing recylables collected on the daily ferry routes into the trash. Obviously this lack of effort was a lack of ownership to help reduce waste within this organization.

I recently wrote a blog post titled &quot;Afloat in the Greenwash&quot;, addressing this issue. I did think there was a positive side to this story as well.

Once again, thank you for the great post.
