Very interesting post; really shows how all buildings, whether they are small houses or large skyscrapers, can benefit the environment by being energy efficient. Building green communities will also create much-needed jobs, which is key in the current economy. According to my client, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), its Rebuild and Renew plan can create 1.6 million new jobs for architects, designers, construction workers, etc. Learn more about their plan on the AIA's blog, The Angle (http://blog.aia.org/angle/).

Interesting article, and thanks for the mention of BedZED and BioRegional. We are now working with other partners internationally to develop further communities based on One Planet Living principles. One example is the Sonoma Mountain Village scheme in California, being developed by Codding Enterprises. You can find out much more about BedZED and other One Planet Living communities at www.bioregional.com.

Regards,
