As a concerned mom, and 22 year environmental and health journalist, I am never surprised at the gullible nature of mainstream folks around products touted as eco-friendly. Two of my big concerns are with regard to carpeting made from recycled bottles, and yes, the ever so green compact florescent bulb. What isn&#039;t being talked about is the possible hazardous effects both of these products might truly have on ones health and the environment. When asked, many people don&#039;t even know that a CFL bulb should not be thrown away in the trash due to it&#039;s toxic nature.</description>
