		<description>Good article! Enjoyed it and agree but would like to make the following points.

I have no interest in living like an Indian peasant or consuming like one though. Having lived there for many years I am quite well aware of their problems.

Much of the 3rd world is stuck in a mess due to the leaders not giving a damn about the common people. Getting to go to an international conference and talking is often the first item on the agenda - the people come last.

No reason to blame the west for their corruption, racisim, tribalism  - first and foremost it starts at home in Africa, Asia and elsewhere.  

We (as a world) must be smart enough to make progress while maintaining a reasonable life style.</description>
