Twitter For Trees
Today is UN World Environment Day and they are running a unique campaign on Twitter. I always like to see non profits use social media effectively and this is a great campaign being driven by the always active green group on Twitter. We previewed this campaign in the middle of May and now the day is here to help them reach their goal of 10,000 followers.

The United Nations Environment Programme is the UN’s voice on the environment. Their mission is to inspire, inform and raise green awareness. Established in 1972, by the UN generla Assembly, each year it is hosted in a different city. This year’s host is Mexico City, highlighting the severe impact that climate change has on developing countries.
You can get involved in World Environment Day by following @uneandyou on Twitter, or going to their web site and following one of the green tips they offer. If you or your organization is participating by offering an activity, go ahead and register it with UNEP here.
