  2. Hi Priti – I saw your comment on my Indiegogo campaign, and would love to tell you more about Zip Cup, the ultra-convenient collapsible cup. http://www.indiegogo.com/zipcup

I took the flimsy collapsing cup you had as a kid, made it safe by adding locking mechanisms used on space shuttles and submarines, made it stylish/attractive, cut out the BPA (and am shooting for Cradle to Cradle product certification)…and voila – an easy-to-carry, safe, awesome, coffee cup that fits in your pocket, bag, and much more. (pic below)

I created Zip Cup because I’m a sustainability pro, but was a complete hypocrite when it came to disposable coffee cups. I learned that we throw away 58 billion paper cups in the US every year, and I sincerely WANTED to carry a reusable mug, but everything on the market was bulky, leaky and inconvenient. I was forever ditching my big travel mug when it was too cumbersome for daily life (especially if I had evening plans).

If I hit my Indiegogo goal of $70,000 by September 12, Zip Cup owners will help keep 21 million paper cups out of landfill in one year. My goal will fund the final steps to get Zip Cup manufactured, primarily factory tooling. I hope to grow and offer more variations of Zip Cup and other products that make it easy for people to slash their daily waste.

Below are some final specs, please do contact me if you need anything else. Best,

    Zip Cup is:
    - Ultra-convenient: collapses to fit in your pocket or bag
    - Versatile: holds 16 oz. (coffee shop size medium) hot or cold beverages on the go
    - Safe: Reinforced locking system means no leakage in your bag–uses the same technology used on spaceships and submarines
    - Stylish: eye-catching design available in a range of cool colors and customizable designs (coming soon)
    - Eco-friendly: BPA-free and recyclable
    - Dishwasher-safe
    - Pays for itself: save 10-25 cents on every cup of coffee you buy
