Fundovino: A Crowdfunding Site for Wine & Vine
As a method for both raising money and pre-selling products, crowdfunding has been a very successful avenue for many different kinds of projects, and promises to remain a relevant financing option for the future. But while tech products seem to be well-suited to the general crowdfunding sites, such as Indiegogo and Kickstarter, other types of projects aren’t nearly as successful there, so a number of different crowdfunding platforms have recently been built, with each one focused on a bit different of a theme.
For instance, WorthWild is for environmental initiatives, SunFunder is for high-impact solar projects, AgFunder is for agricultural equity crowdfunding, and FoodStart is for restaurants and food trucks. And now there’s a new kid on the block, this time dedicated to crowdfunding wine and wine-related projects, called Fundovino.
If you’ve ever had the desire to get into the wine business, but don’t know the first thing about growing grapes or making wine, Fundovino could be a great way to get your feet wet by backing a project or two in the wine and vine industry.
Fundovino operates in a similar fashion as many other crowdfunding sites, with backers choosing their level of pledge for a project, which earns them a reward or gift as determined by the project creator, and the creators set an ‘all or nothing’ goal for the campaign, which must be reached by the target date or they receive none of the funds pledged.
The Fundovino project is quite unique:
It is inspired by a deep respect for the vine but also for the men who nurture, nourish and transform it for the delight of others. Its ethic is to promote and develop the world of wine.
There is a form of mutual commitment between the parties:
Project owners adhere to a “code of good practice”, based on a number of essential themes: quality, elegance, nature and soil conservation, and a desire to ensure that winemaking continues to flourish.
Potential donors contribute and play an active role in a project that they have always dreamed of, or an initiative that attracts, inspires, or just simply interests them…
