Getting Slightly Stoopid About Climate Change
A few months ago a reggae/rock band called Slightly Stoopid invited us to have a booth on the Blazed & Confused concert tour. They were headlining with legendary rapper Snoop Dogg. This was a perfect extension of our Artists & Athletes program that we started a few months back.
The tour was hitting 20 cities in 30 days. That was a bit much for us to handle so we selected 6 of the cities (Portland, Seattle, Mountain View, San Diego, Orlando, Boston).
We saw the tour as a great opportunity to really connect with people. After brainstorming and reviewing viral marketing campaigns we took a step back and looked at the concert series as a way for attendees to have a voice and connect with their peers in a heartfelt manner. From that perspective, we came up with the idea to ask people one simple question: “If you could make one wish to help fight climate change…what would you wish for?”
The range of responses varied from whimsical to enlightening. The most powerful ones were inspiring.
We will be compiling the videos responses from each city and publishing them to youtube, vimeo and myspace. When video reach 10,000 views, we will plant a tree on behalf of everyone in the video and Slightly Stoopid. The participants in the video will receive a t-shirt to commemorate the occasion.
